Cara, não encontrei nada sobre a versão 2010, mas achei a resposta de um cara falando sobre isso. Porém, era em relação ao Max 2009. Mas talvez ajude:
"Hi,
Gelato has been discontinued. CUDA is for developers to create their own programs that take advantage of the parallel processors of the GPU. It is not a renderer, just a C language.
NVIDIA bought mental images a short while before discontinuing Gelato, so you can infer what you’d like from that.
The GPU can act as a high-performance-computer (HPC), and a high-end GPU can do the work of as many as 200 CPU cores on tasks that take advantage of the architecture. Like weather forcasting, and rendering.
For non-GPU hardware acceleration there are the products from ART VPS click on the link If you need raytracing performance they are hard to beat. Dollar-for-dollar they outperform CPUs on raytracing tasks. I have a job running now where my four quad-core machines were rendering slower than the ART VPS RayBox, and the RayBox is doing a much higher ray depth. Where they lack is in a useful GI, but they have a nice HDRI skylight, and if you have standard lighting skills, will turn out spectacular results. See my friend’s site at click on the link for some great examples.
It will be exciting to see where things go in the near future with NVIDIA and mr!
