duvida com curve fillet no maya 6.5

to estudando maya com o livro guia completo de referencia maya 6. to gostando do livro mas me enganchei no exercicio q começa na pagina 91. na hora de usar o curve fillet, o comando curve fillet ñ funciona! da o erro: "Error: filletCurve4 (Fillet Curve Node): failed to compute the result.". vale lembrar q o comando offset curve on surface q o livro manda fazer, ñ da certo, da erro e so da certo com o offset curve. se alguem estuda com esse livro e passou por essa parte e sabe como desenganchar, poderia me dizer como q fez para sair dai?
